Where little readers find big hearts

Four picture books by Angela Lau for readers ages 2 to 11: real rescues, robot friends, and the courage to try again.

Every rescue goes both ways

A trembling street pup from Seoul. A tiny kitten who was very sick. Both books started with a real rescue.

Brave robots With big hearts

Waffle is scared of tall rides. Seaweed the robot dolphin helps free dolphins from old fishing nets. Big ideas about AI, made small enough to hold.

Stories kids ask for again

New in June 2026: my newest book, Milo Finds His Wag, is out now in paperback.

Why I write

By day, I build generative AI products. In my free time, I write picture books about what technology can't replace: courage, kindness, and the people (and pets) who show up for each other. Some of my characters are robots. All of them have heart.

Milo Finds His Wag

Every dog deserves to wag their tail. Milo just needed someone to show him how.

On a trip to Seoul, Dr. Leia finds a trembling, malnourished Maltese living on the streets and makes him a promise: you're coming home with me. Back in California, two Bougie Puppies named Kona-Kai and Nala-Maeve and a pair of devoted grandparents help Milo go from a scared, silent pup to a dog who remembers how to bark, play, and wag.

The Purrfect Welcome

One kind person can make a big difference. Sometimes it starts with one very sick kitten.

A caring vet takes in a tiny street kitten who is very sick and gives it all the love it needs to grow healthy and strong. The story comes from my veterinarian friend's real rescue, and the three cats in the book are based on another friend's rescue cats, who now play with their pet parent every day.

Surf Squad: The Kelp Forest Adventure

A boy, a pod of dolphins, and a robot dolphin named Seaweed.

Isaac's dad is a marine vet. His mom builds inventions for the ocean. When Isaac and Seaweed find dolphins tangled in old fishing nets deep in the kelp forest, they work together to set them free. It's a first look at ocean conservation, robotics, and AI, in words kids already know.
